BARBARA Walters bumped Joe Pantoliano from
"The View" this week because the former "Sopranos" star's
new CBS show competes directly against her long-running newsmag, "20/20."
"The View" booked Pantoliano last summer to appear this week in connection with "The Handler," his new show about undercover FBI agents. But earlier this month, "View" producers called CBS to tell the network that Pantoliano was being disinvited, according to Daily Variety. Their reason: "The Handler" airs at 10 p.m. on Fridays - at the same time as Walters' "20/20." The show says it has a policy against promoting programs that compete against Barbara.- Post staff |
