First Vampire Film Festival

The first international Vampire Film Festival was held in Hollywood -- the first film competition of its kind. Nine vampire films were shown during the festival, which was sponsored by the International Press Academy. The outstanding vampire feature winner went to "Demon Under Glass," and the Outstanding Vampire Short went to "Midnight Sun," reports Zap2it.com. The festival was capped with a Gothic Vampire Costume Ball. Admission to the festival was discounted for those who gave blood to the American Red Cross at the festival held at the Los Angeles Film School in Hollywood.
