A kid that works for me said that he wanted the meat.. I will take all the choice cuts and give him the rest. It would be cool to do something with the hide.... I will consider that....

How are you going to fix the venison and when is
dinner???? do you use the hides? Will you make
moccassins? I saw some beautiful deer skin boots a few
years back. They were so soft and just beautiful with
beads and such designed in them.

The idea is that if kids are educated about the use of guns they will be less likely to accidently shoot themselves...

I just killed an eight point buck this morning.....
I am not
kidding.... with a bow and arrow...

I'd bet alot of parents would pitch a fit, if you
want to take it
that's one thing. But making a hunting class
mandatory I agree is
stupid. Because some folks feel as strongly about
not having a gun, as
others do about owning one.

And your right, it would be very offensive to
someone who was a
vegitarian. Myself, I couldn't do without eating
meat. lol Wouldn't
want to, but not something you should shove down
someone's throat who
doesn't want to eat it either.

Some things should be mandatory, hunting isn't one
of them. I can see
it being a optional class, but I agree doesn't
make sense making it
mandatory.

Ok, sex education classes in school are all
voluntary, correct? So why
in my kids school is the hunter education class
mandatory? Now I have
no problem with my kids taking the class,
especially since my son is
going hunting this year with his grandad, but what
about kids of
people that are anti gun and PETA lovers? They
teach you the correct
way to handle guns and clean guns, but they also
teach you how to gut
and clean a deer after it's been killed. Now some
of these kids will
never see a gun and probably never even consider
killing a deer, so
why should they be made to take this class. At
least on the sex
education it is something e'one will eventually
do, even if it is
after they are married. But not e'one will go out
and go hunting.

=====
I wanted a perfect ending... Now, I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment, and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity.
