Just after 9 a.m. Thursday, most of the approximately 20 students who ate the brownies became ill, police Cpl. Jeffrey Harrington said.
The two female students reportedly added a chocolate- flavored laxative to the brownies in retaliation for an argument they had with other students Wednesday, Harrington said.
The ill students were treated by New Port Richey and Pasco County emergency workers at the school, and reportedly were doing fine Thursday afternoon.
The two eighth-graders were transported to the county's Juvenile Assessment Center, police said.
The remaining brownies will be sent for testing to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
