It would seem to me that the public schools are not doing a good job.  In a recent nationwide survey more than half the 8th graders surveyed didn't even know the capital of their own state.  Perhaps someone other than the govt can do a better job for less money.

that is why we have public schools.  so the poor can have a chance in the world, because not everyone can afford the quality education of a private school
