I know they both evolved from the same thinking. I was talking about certain
elements within them that differed. They do have some differences, but the
degrees do make a huge difference.

Sorry, Angela, but the first part of this is simply not
true.   Both socialism and communism involve government
control of the economy and elevation of the government over
individual property rights.  They differ only in degree, not
in kind.
