Which is really my point. Baghdad is supposed to be a modern industrial city. Iraq was the most secular and western oriented country of all the middle east outside of Israel. Yet donkey carts with rockets are able to get close to US interests and no one thinks it odd. I guarantee if the cops see donkey carts going down the street in Daytona Beach someone is going to get stopped.
So if someone is portraying the Islamic countries as backward, well it is accurate.
