Streisand loses to conservationists

LOS ANGELES -- Barbra Streisand's $10 million lawsuit against an environmental group has been thrown out of court by a Los Angeles judge. Streisand had sued California Coastal Records Project for using an aerial photograph of her cliffside Malibu estate in one of its publications, claiming her privacy had been violated. But Superior Court Judge Allan J. Goodman declared the photo's publication was protected by the First Amendment and was not "highly offensive to a reasonable person." "As a matter of law, there is nothing private or personal" about the photo, he ruled. Adding insult to injury, Goodman said he would charge legal costs the conservation group incurred to Streisand, TheSmokingGun.com reported Thursday.
