MUD BARS
                       THIS ONE IS A FAVORITE WITH THE KIDDIES 
 
    3 ( 1 oz ) squares unsweetened chocolate, cut up
    1 1/2 sticks ( 6 oz ) butter or margarine
    3 eggs
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
    3/4 cup flour
    1 cup chopped walnuts
    1 cup shredded coconut (optional)
    1 ( 7oz ) jar marshmallow creme
    Chocolate Mud Frosting (below)
 
             Preheat oven to 350*F. In a 2-quart glass bowl, combine chocolate, and butter. Heat in microwave oven on High 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, stirring once or twice until smooth.
             With a fork, beat in  eggs, sugar, and vanilla until well blended. Add flour and mix well.  Stir in walnuts and coconut. Spread the mixture in a well greased 7 X 11-inch baking pan.
              Bake 25 to 30 minutes, until set around the edges. Brownies should be moist in center. Do not overbake.
            Remove from oven and immediately drop spoonfulks of marshmallow creme all over warm brownies. Let stand 5 minutes. Spread marshmallow topping evenly. Refridgerate until completely cooled, 3 to 4 hours.
           Spread Chocolate Mud Frosting over marshmallow topping. Refridgerate at least 1 hour, or until set, before  cutting into 12 ( 31/2 x 2 inch) bars. Bars can be cut smaller if desired.
 
                                  CHOCOLATE MUD FROSTING
 
    3/4 Cups semisweet chocolate chips
    3 Tbsp milk
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 Tbsp light corn syrup
 
                   In a 2 quart glass bowl, heat together chocolate chips and milk in a microwave oven on High 40 to 50 seconds, or until chocolate is melted and smooth when stirred. Add vanilla and corn syrup and blend well. Refridgerate, stirring occasionally, until thickened to frosting consistency.
                 Makes @ 12 bar                 Prep time: 25 minutes/ cook time: 25 to 30 minutes
                                                  Chill Time: 4 to 5 hours   
 
 
                                       CHOCOLATE COCONUT BARS
 
    1 Stick ( 4 oz)   butter or margarine, melted
     2 cups chocolate wafer or chocolate chip cookie crumbs
     2 cups flaked or shredded coconut
     1 ( 14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
     12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips( 2 cups), melted
 
    Preheat oven to 350*F. In a medium bowl, combine melted butter and cookie crumbs; mix well. Press into bottom of an ungreased 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Bake 10 minutes.
     Remove crust from oven. Sprinkle coconut all over crus. Poru sweetened condensed milk evenly over all. Return to oven and bake 18 to 20 minutes, or until coconut begins to brown lightly around edges of pan. Let cool in pan.
    Spread melted chocolate evenly over top. Let stand until set or refridgerate until firm. Cut cooled cookies into 40 ( 13/4 x 1 1/2 inch )  bars.
 
   Prep: 15 minutes            Cook: 28 to 30 minutes    Makes 40 bars
