I hate the new look of hotmail. I can't go to the homepage anymore and see at a glance how many emails I have. It only tells me if I have mail from someone in my address book. It's a pain in the ass and a waste of my time.

Hotmail's New Look

Microsoft's free, Web-based e-mail service, Hotmail, unveiled some features this week. The first difference users will notice is a new interface that, in an effort to help people avoid junk mail, places e-mail from a Hotmail user's contact list at the top of the virtual mailbag.

Some other additions suggest that Microsoft wants to encroach on the Web-invitation site Evite's turf; it's easier for Hotmail users to plan group get-togethers, and they can then opt to have the site send them e-mail reminders about upcoming events.

Microsoft says about 145 million users have accounts with Hotmail, although many of them rarely log in.
