Schwarzenegger Inspires `Governator' Beer

PORTLAND, Ore. (Wireless Flash) -- Arnold Scwarzenegger isn't the first actor to become governor of California -- but he's probably the first California governor to have a beer brewed in his honor.

The so-called "Governator Ale" made by Portland, Oregon-based Pumping Iron Brewing Company, has just gone on sale in California, coming in a 22-ounce bottle with a label depicting a pumped up man flexing his back muscles "a la" Arnold.

Brewing company CEO Jerome Chicvara says he wants to bring some fun back into the beer business and give Californians something special for toasting their new governor.

Appropriately enough, the ale is made in a strong-flavored style known as "Extra Special Bitter," and Chicvara proclaims, "This is not a `girly man' beer!"

The Governator Ale already has fans among Democrats and Republicans, and the success has Chicvara thinking about making another Arnold-inspired brew called "I'll Be Bock."
