those spam e-mails about Paris Hilton's sex video may find this hard to
believe, but her popularity on the internet pales in comparison to kiddie
fave Harry Potter.
That's
according to figures compiled by the internet company Yahoo! Inc. to
determine the most popular people and places that were searched for on the
internet over the past year.
Harry
Potter ranks No. 2 on the list, but poor Paris is stuck at the bottom of the Top 10
-- at No. 8 to be exact.
"American
Idol," Britney Spears, 50 Cent and Eminem come in at the third, fourth
and fifth slots, followed by WWE wrestling.
And
what was the No. 1 person, place or thing on netheads' minds during 2003? The
file-sharing program KaZaa, where people swapped pirated music and software
for free.
