In His Light

In His light, things are more clearly understood.
Suddenly, I comprehend what I never before could.
My mind is more perceptive than it ever was.
I can understand the answer "Just because".
I used to wonder how could God love one such as I,
One whose own parents chose to deny.
I used to feel unworthy and damned to sin,
Couldn't comprehend why He'd want to come in ...
Want to come into my corrupted broken heart,
Forgive my sins, and a brand new life start.
When I felt His invitation, offered so lovingly,
I cried out, "Why, Lord, why would You love me?"
"Just because," was His gentle reply.
Unable to comprehend His answer, I was tempted to deny.
Knowing it was spiritual blindness, an inability to see,
Not a desire to be difficult ~ controlling me ...
He imparted His light, illuminating my vision,
Revealing He loves all men and looks on none with derision.
"Just because" suddenly made sense to me.
He loves us just because we are ~ not for our actions or personalities.
Just because I am here and just because I exist,
Jesus offered to add my name to Eternity's list.
Just because (and not for what I'd done or will do)
And, my friend, He offers the very same to you!
In His Light, I am being shown new truths every day.
In His Light, I am guided how to live His way.
