LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - On Super Bowl Sunday, networks not airing the game usually follow one of two strategies: Give up and show reruns, figuring no one's going to watch anyway, or try some stunt to attract the non-football fans.
NBC is taking the latter road this year, offering up counterprogramming that's about as counter to the Super Bowl as anything could get. The network will turn over its primetime schedule on Sunday, Feb. 1 to three episodes of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," hoping the Fab V from the Bravo show can lure some eyeballs away from Super Bowl XXXVIII on CBS. In fact, Super Bowl Sunday on NBC will sort of resemble a cable preview. In addition to the "Queer Eye" mini-marathon, NBC will import the "Travel Channel World Poker Tour Battle of Champions" to air at 4 p.m. ET, opposite pre-game festivities. NBC has aired "Queer Eye" four times since the makeover series debuted on its sister cable network last summer, averaging 7.2 million viewers. The network would probably be pretty pleased if the three-hour block on Super Bowl Sunday drew an audience close to that. _______________________________________________ Sndbox mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://a8.mewebdns-a8.com/mailman/listinfo/sndbox_sandboxmail.net
