Pete, Thanks for the info. When you say:
>Simply running an extra instance nailed up with the persistent switch will >have the desired effect.
Does this mean in the Global.cfg I need to reference the -persistent after the following?
SNIFFER external nonzero "C:\IMail\Declude\Sniffer\snfrv2r2.exe -persistent xxxcodeherexxx" 7 0
Or just download 2-3 and simply replace the sniffer.exe file (mycodebase.exe). Sorry for the confusion, I have just seen lots of parameters within the log.
Download and install the beta. Of course, by "install" I mean brand it for your license ID and put it where your current sniffer.exe is.

Change nothing in your global.cfg file. Your Declude settings will not change. Declude will create normal sniffer instances in the usual way.
To turn on a persistent instance of Message Sniffer you have to run the program outside of Declude. You have a couple of choices:
1. If you don't mind leaving your server logged in you can follow the instructions in the readme.txt file and create a .cmd file in your sniffer directory that will call sniffer with the persistent option. Once you start this you will need to leave it running - this will be your persistent instance.
2. If you would like to run the persistent sniffer instance as a service then you can use a utility to do that - or you can use tools from the windows 2000 toolkit.
Here is an archive reference about using the toolkit:

Here is an archive reference that I posted for using RunExeSvc:

Please remember that 2-3 is a beta program right now - so you should watch it carefully. That said, we've had no problem reports so you should have no trouble.
Hope this helps, _M
