For those of you wondering what your next unlimited Thermal Duration glider will be,
here's an interesting fact. Of the eight Master pilots that flew at the season
opening Southern California Soaring Clubs (SC2) contest last Sunday, six were flying
Sage products. When was the last time, if ever, you've seen that kind of brand
loyalty and market penetration in the unlimited AMA Thermal Duration game? Mike
Reagan, Mike Smith, George Joy, Patrick Dionisio, Ron Falkenham and myself all
have our choice of whatever exotic European molded glider is currently in vogue, but
we choose to stick with what wins. For those of you who think they can't compete at
this level, I should mention that the first place Expert trophy as well as the first,
second and third place Sportsman trophies also went to pilots flying Sage products.
