I flew in (unfortunately) the last HLG contest of the season in Denver this
weekend. It was a good, well run contest in tough conditions.
The surprise of the contest came at the award presentation. The CD, Lenny
Keer, had worked some magic with the usual old boring trophies and had
created something truly memorable! Lenny had taken a trophy of a tennis
player in mid-serve and had altered it. He cut off the tennis racket and
replaced it with a glider made of fiberglass board (complete with dihedral).
In the other hand of the tennis player was placed a transmitter with antenna
and even with control sticks! Lenny really used some imagination and
craftsmanship.
Thanks Lenny
