Switch the leads on the motor, not on the ESC!
400s are timed neutral, so no worry! You could run it
in by immersing it in fresh water while being connected to a single
cell, till the cell goes dead! Takes a few hours :-)!
I never bothered with that, but the wise guys say you should!
You could of course immerse it in some light oil, too, but it must
not be conductive!
