I suggest using DENATURED ALCOHOL from the paint thinner section of your
hardware store.  "Ordinary" alcohol could be interpreted by some as
Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, which often has a high water content (up to 50%
or more).

Also, when using Denatured Alky, apply in thin layers so the alcohol can
evaporate before epoxy cures or you'll have problems.

I heat a mixture of 50/50 Denatured Alky and Epoxy in a PAPER (NOT plastic)
cup placed in the microwave for about 5 seconds.  Be care, as the alcohol
boils at a low temp and can splatter a real mess in the MW.   This mix is
excellent for coating/sealing obechi and balsa wings and fuses.
