Did anyone else see the October issue of Kitplanes? There were several very interesting articles that apply to modelers. Page 4 announced that Jim Newman would author a 'how to' column like he does in Model Airplane News. Page 6 has an article on the record setting AR-5. The amazing thing about this plane is was the care the builder took with the airplane. The article stated he backlit the wing to find ripples. When he finished filling and sanding, the largest peak to peak distance was 0.0036!!!!! I don't know of anyone in the modeling world that goes through that much effort to get a wing flat. Page 14 shows a neat looking ultralight designed by Jim Millett, who started at COX in the mid 60's. In the flight performance portion of the article, the author used the infamous "dive test" to define stability! It appears that the dive test goes beyond our modeling spectrum. gv RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. Send "subscribe" and "unsubscribe" requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
