Hi Garret,
I'm pretty new to RC Soaring but am very happy with my 1-26. I built the
poly version and used HS81 servos and a standard micro Futaba reviever. I
did not cover the corroplast elevator and rudder and I suspect this saved a
little weight ...'way back there' !! I ended up adding a very small amount
of weight to the nose ...about a 'dimes' worth in your currency. Used
Oracover transparent red to cover the wings and had no warping problems
which I have heard can be a problem. Mine weighed in at about 15 ounces.
I did spend quite a bit of time trimming and adjusting the CG and this has
made a 'BIG' difference to the performance. I now fly with a CG about a 1/4"
back from the reccomended CG which gives almost neutral stability ...play
around with it and check out what works, I did and it was worth the effort.
Have fun.
Cheers
Graeme Andrew
