A friend of mine, Jim Scollen has built an Olympic II which he wants to fly
in Nostalgia competition.
He has built a strong spar that will take a zoom launch but, the wing tips
are not torsionally rigid enought even though they are covered with 21st
Century film. They flutter on a hard launch. What can he do to stop the
flutter during a hard zoom launch and still be Nostalgia legal? Do diagonal
ribs that touch the flat bottom of the airfoil (but not the top film) stay
within the Nostalgia rules?
