Lately, I am hooked on this thing. I have a ball at low throttle just circling it like a fast Park Flyer around me. Drives my dog nuts as he circles and circles till he is soooo dizzy and then comes over and bites me! Typical of a Catahoula Lepord Dog :-) I find that I like 6 cells (600AE) better than 7. I get longer flight times and don't need any extra power or speed. I have an old three bladed Cox prop from my Ukie days that looks very cool and is durable. Tried lots of different props (even some old racing wood props, as in 20 years old) but didn't find enough difference to bother with other than the Cox prop. I flew it on the slope against some serious (veterans of Parker) Boomerangs and found that like your car keys for ballast you don't fly with the expensive little battery pack unsecured when combating :-( Yep its laying in the weeds on the side of the cliff in Kentucky. Anyway, I hope to have the full review in RC Soaring Digest next issue or the following. The review will also discuss a new Nicad size with nearly triple capacity and yet with a very small increase in weight and over all size! Yep I said our old friends NICADS. While in Milwaukee I flew it side by side with a Zagi Sp400 (not the Zagi Razor) and found that the Zagi noticably flew a little 'better' ( he did have 7 cells but that wasn't the difference). Which just proved to me that the ships are two completely different kits and planes....But wait a second! Flew "better"???? Be careful about jumping to conclusions here guys. Some would argue that 500hp is 'better' than 499hp, but if the 500 is in a car with no wheels...well better can be decieving. I am NOT saying that is the case here, and my article is not to say that the FMA is 'better' or the Z is 'better' but rather to show just how much fun the FMA I reviewed is to fly and its Value for the money rates with the rest of the foamie wings. Yep, but the FMA Razor has some features that I like 'better' than the Z. Each's individual features make them both awesome little ships. If asked which I prefer or world reccomend, without hesitation I would say......... Read the article and you will find out! Gordy RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
