I saw sea gull thermaling during the calm days and soaring during the gusty
days. Sometimes they also thermal up near the cloud during the 30 mph gusty
days. Not sure how they fly under that kind of extreme weather. Anybody
know what kind of "airfoil" (root & tip), span, chord, and weight for these
soaring experts.

Just for a reference, here is a link to Birdworks' R/C Gull and their spec
http://www.harborside.com/~birdworks/bwgull.htm

Span - 41"
Foil - E168
Loading - 10-14 oz/sq. ft
Weight - 15 - 21 oz
Area - 217 sq. in

Looks like a hot sloper. Not sure how they thermal.
