While many top pros arn't using gyros I have found it an easy way to add
10ft' average height to my launches. (measured with a ram2 altimiter).
Another benefit is a gyro can really save you from a hooked launch. I think
for a begining dlg thrower they are a good investment. you don't need an
expensive one the MPI gyro is under $50 and works great right out of the
box. with the case off it's pretty light I'm guessing 5-7 grams?
