I use a 4-pin MIC plug (old style CB Microphone). YOu might be able to still find some at Radio Shack. You can use two pins for each lead. They are inexpensive. But it's not quick disconnect if you screw on the retainer.

I prefer the Aqualine footswitches. I get them from Newark Electronics. Best part is you can get them in orange or yellow or red.
