Finished up this morning with the wiring harness, no skeg yet and have to recover the rudder from banging around the basement this week, but it was charged and so was I!

The wind was light with occasional firm gusts, temps warm.

I put a suspicious RX that I have had laying around and on first tries found it to be nuts, but figured I didn't give it a fair trail in the past and thought I'd plop it in to see what was what.  Ground tests showed it to be ...mysterious, but good enough for some close in test flying.

I gave it a few light tosses with the balance point at the rearward recommended and sure enough, fairly nose heavy but flyable.

Trimmed and ready for some more aggressive tosses I gave her a good grunter just as the wind came up...perfect timing because I hooked up and started to take it out....but we have a perimeter of trees and decided that since I don't know the plane, not to take a chance, so I turned back flying at about 40'....only to run through another nice aggressive piece of air, so wrapped into it and took it out past the top of the treeline...when I remembered the goofy RX in it....and brought it back home. On the way back, I got the mysterious full down elevator blip that I had noticed in the past, so it was a good decision.

Super AVA is different than the AVA...(my friend and flying buddy Tony Utley had his AVA flying tonite too so we could compare).  It flys different I suppose because of the huge flat center section.  In sinky air it just doesn't want to do anything...but in light to great air, it seems to core pretty much on its own.

The Split Spoilers?  They worked great!  I don't fly RES and using spoilers is totally alien to me, but this thing slows down nicely and it was a breeze to control the decent to the hat.  I put them up a full 90 and still have really nice pitch control...and the plane settles vertically as it slows.

Oh yeah that sky out.....Tony got it on Video!  The from launch to first lift hook, the bail to come away from the trees and the re-hook.  Very cool to watch the plane's tail thru the whole thing....would be great to show newbies.

Four thumbs up on the Super AVA!  For you guys with back problems and weak arms or shoulders...have someone else hold it for you (same for Sharons!) in the wind.

The tow hook location was sort of a oops!....I have it full forward and it is about dead on the perfect spot!  Might have to have a elevator preset down a bit for winch launches...might...cuz it can't go any more forward than I have it ;)

Wish you could have seen it....well maybe you can..I am sending the video to Barry to put up on his website.
