Another quicky for ya,
I worked in the shop at Marks Models back in
the early 80's, and had THE "Seagull" that Mark affectionately called
"J.L. Pigeon" above me in the rafters. It was not rubber, it was
foam and wood as I recall, and it was controlled only by elevons that
mark controlled as you would drive a tractor. Independantly
opperating each of the elevons with each of the two sticks on the
tranny. Oh, and he said it was fun to fly, but the realism went
away when he put it through a nice smooth roll.
K, think about rolling it the way he had to
control it. I'll bet the first couple weren't very smooth
;-)
This could be good food for conversation and
lie telling as a side bar to this contest thingy we are supposed to be
showing up for :-)
Mike

Mark Smith....Just amazing coordination, timing and skill....

Yep, in every aspect of his flying. He flew the rubber seagulls in the Jonathan Livingston movie. It'll be really cool to see Mark again after 30 years.
