When I was in college I used a combination of toothpaste/WD-40 to do a knock 'em dead polishing job on my motorcycle rims. The rust dissolved rather easy and polished out great. Amazing what one comes up with practically no budget.
Too bad to hear that polishing compound doesn't work on headlight covers. How am I going to break the news to my Mazda that the clear headlights it received when I polished them just last weekend with Johnson's rubbing compound - is nothing but an illusion.........
