The Greater Detroit Soaring And Hiking Society, GDSHS, is going to sponser an
Eazy Glider Postal fun contest on the weekend of May 24th / 25th, 2008.

The Easy Glider is a molded foam glider produced By Multiplex and available
through almost any hobby shop or hobby mail order company. It is a great
trainer or one design glider and very durable.

This will be a club event with a Seeded Man on Man scoring format. The top
three scores per club will be totaled and averaged for the club's score to
enter. Flight time will be 6, 8, and 10 minutes, in that order. Landing will be
required within a 25 ft dia circle for a grand total of 10 points per landing.
Unlimited popoffs are allowed in honor of Gordy.

The reason for using SMOM is to expose more people to SMOM and it's relative
ease of use even for small clubs with low participant head count. The GDSHS has
done this with one winch and launching one pair of contestants, one after
another as quickly as the line can be retrieved. There is no limit on the
number
winches.

The two dates, the 24th or the 25th are optional, either can be used
as desired and the scores are to be e-mailed to me on May 25th for tabulation.
The Easy Glider is the only glider eligible for this event. The electric
version can be used but the motor must be disconected. The basic EZG can have
minimal modifications such as sanding down the mold marks to a minimum but
still visible, also tow hook relocation and stiffer wing joiners are allowed.

The EZG is known locally as the "Beer Cooler" so this contest will be known as
the "1st Annual Beer Cooler Postal Contest" and is open to any club in the
world. this is going to be for the fun of flying gliders and communicating
with clubs and pilots world wide, hopefully.

Entries are open as soon as you read this and should be e-mailed to me by May
15th 2008. Additional questions can be addresed to me by e-mail.
