Some of the models on that page will take a TSA lock as well, they even sell the locks at the same site. It's a high density HDPE plastic that should hold up okay, We ship $5k tripods and heads in them. Is it for everyone, no. Nor for every model. For planes with removable v tails, it would probably work. They come in various sizes. If you customize the insert you put in it, a plane with a modest v stab might be made to snuggle into it. It has a flat side, some are octagonal ... so it can sit still and not roll. It doesn't open in the middle, which is bad. It cannot be collapsed by more than five inches, which may save some models from too-clumsy TSA goons. What the Sport Tube has going for it is, among other things, it often qqualifies for an airline shipping discount as it usually gets called "sports equipment" because it was for hauling skis and the like. For someone on a budget, though, this might be something to look at. For me, the tube would be worth more than any three of my planes plus their radios:-) Go to markertek.com and check it out for yourself, is all I wanted to offer. Then make up your own mind.
