In the overall scores, Dave Kornberg is at the front of the pack at the
end of five rounds for the first day at Spring Fling 2008. And he's
leading with a 2-meter ship, no less.
I was walking down the landing area and heard Jim Sneed counting down
for Dave as he lined up for a landing. "Twenty seconds" I looked
downwind expecting to see Dave's ship on final with flaps deployed. It
was nowhere to be seen. That's strange. Where is it? My eyes must be
going bad. Where's his plane? "Fifteen seconds" Over my right
shoulder, screaming in from 500 feet comes a yellow demon. In a
beautiful descending arch, Dave guides his ship to the ground and nailed
his time. Did he get his landing points? Who cares. Ya shudda seen
that approach.
More fun tomorrow.
