Craig, I know you have been around long enough by now that you ought to know better than to try and mess with the old tried and true American TD. How dare you even consider it. You should be made to read nothing but Gordy Posts over and over for year. Actually I like your idea but no real need to change the TD rules to accomplish the task, just fly F3J Rules off of Winches. Those that want to play will show up and those that only have old gas bag floaters could choose to play or not just like they do in the regular TD Classes. My guess is the guys that are good enough to be competitive still with their floaters in regular TD contests would still be as competitive in this task. Most guys just really hate any kind of change because it might make them have to try something new.
Thanks to the OVSS guys at least one part of the country thought clearly enough to come up with MOM and Seeded MOM formats and actually come up with flight times that challenge the new designs a little.
