I've never done it, but this is what I read looooong ago on how lead shot is made.
Melt lead.
Pour it on a screen several feet above a buck of water.
Call 911.
The micro gravity of the lead droplet makes it round, the water freezes it that way.
Lots of splashing and hissing, be careful of
little lead balls getting in you shoes.
