We BASHers fly in the rain whenever necessary (and snow and hail
unfortunately). Before I got a computer transmitter, I used to not worry about
it. If the rain got too heavy, I'd attempt to use a plastic grocery bag. It
worked somewhat but was tough to keep on the radio in the wind and it made a
lot of noise as it rustled about. No problem though. The transmitter worked
fine.

BASHer Mike however couldn't stomach the thought of rain falling on his
computer radio and enlisted the help of his wife. They designed a transmitter
mitt that shields the radio and keeps your hands warm! We all had to have one
and talked his wife into selling them. She now sells them at $30 each. You can
see the mitt at: http://www.fatlion.com/bash/mitt.html

Now, I have a computer radio and am FAR less cavalier about using it in the
rain. I love my mitt and keep it in the car always.
