Roy Simpson now has a demo version of Model Design 8 for Windows 95, 98,
and NT posted on the Dream Catcher web site. You can download the demo
program from

http://www.dchobby.com/airfoil/

The demo program is complete except that it will only plot airfoils with a
chord length of 5.678 inches for single airfoils or root airfoils of a set
of ribs. The tip airfoil for a set of ribs will be 4.567 inches. Wing
plans will plot at the scale required to print a complete half wing on a
single sheet. This program also includes a few airfoils and one
Specification File for a sample wing.

The Angle Template and the Circles and Ellipses modules are not crippled in
any way and will plot full size. The Design module can also be used to
calculate the MAC, location of the MAC, location of 25% MAC, location of
39% MAC, wing area, and aspect ratio of wings with up to 5 panels per half
wing.

Like all Windows program, this one suffers from Windows bloat and the zip
file of the installation program is about 2.5 megs. If you too have a slow
internet connection and would like a demo program, send me a mailing
address and I will mail you the demo program on 2 floppy disks.

Model Design 7 is still available for those with computers running MS-DOS
or Windows 3.1. The complete program is about 800K and can even be run
from the floppy disk if required. A demo version of Model Design 7 is also
available from the Dream Catcher web site.
