Well, I'm sure you know that Futaba has not gone through elaborate and
expensive testing to certify the Hitec Spectra module for use in the 8UAF
radio right?

Which means that using one is illegal and is something that I will never
confess to do.  So I can tell you, (based on no personal experience, mind
you), that if I were to have one on for more than perhaps 20 minutes, I
would expect it to get hot also.  In fact, I would expect to see a shorter
than expected battery length in the 8UAF tx.

One might suggest using 1100mah batteries in the TX, should you be a
reckless scofflaw and continue using the handy gadget :-)
