I haven't actually tried this yet, but the 8UAFS will let you select a
different channel that you want to be the flap channel for exactly this
purpose.
It's called the "AIL2" function.
Here's the quote from the manual that mentions the correct setting: "When
using flaperon or aileron differential function with a 5-channel receiver,
select the '5&6' mode."
