Depends on the Transmitter make and model. They all can be changed by their
US importer service center. Most Tx use a module that is replaceable. Not
all areas have the Ch 20 problem and you may be able to use it but not in
you current location - so, if you can afford it, get another module on a
different channel. Just need to change the crystal in the 555 (to
corresponding ch). But if your Tx does not use a module, if it is new, take
it back to hobby shop (if you bought locally - they should not have sold you
that channel - and should exchange it for you). Or send it back to service
center (Jr to Horizon Hobbies etc.) to get it changed. But if you picked it
up at a swap meet, and it has a module, you can sell the module. Most of
the members of this list have multiple modules (and multiple Txs as well).
As I said before, interference on channel 20 is dependent on proximity to
certain TV transmitters and is not a problem for most of the country. Just
do not pawn it off on someone in your area. Regis

Subject: [RCSE] Channel 20 (was Carbon Fiber interference)
Ah, finally, someone willing to take this another step. Thank you so much
for this info. Sounds like #20 wasn't the greatest idea. Tough to change
now, though, without getting a new Tx. Or can a Tx be retuned to another
channel?
