Aerodynamically speaking, what makes a DLG a DLG? Obviously, there are strength issues, but putting that aside, what differences are there between a conventionally launched HLG and a DLG, especially in the wing. I know the tails of DLG's are often different to avoid boom twisting on launch, but my impression has been that, aside from that, the tail isn't much different (the Texas Twister, which doesn't use a skinny tailboom seems and does need a sub fin, seems to get by with a fairly conventional v-tail, for example). So, is there anything special with the wing itself that allows it to be discused launched with out cartwheeling across the sky? Brett RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
