Gents, this will definitely date me, but I used to
do MECHANICAL drafting where
we actually used pencils and drafting vellum (look
that one up).
There are still a few drafting supply houses left
that carry
a triangular rubber sleeve that will fit over a
drafting lead holder (or an X-Acto knife)
They won't roll and it actually improves the grip.
