... Hello California.

Well, my one year assignment here in Edinburgh, Scotland is up and I'll
be returning to California next week. I've had a great year of
traveling, sightseeing, fellowship, and flying (oh yeah, and some
work), but I'm looking forward to getting back to my home state. I'd
like to say thanks to my gracious hosts here in Scotland, especially to
my club the Forth Valley Soarers and their president Martin Gibbs, and
to my flying buddy and friend Ron Russell from the Fife Soarers. Look
these folks up if you're interested in flying in Scotland:

For those interested, I'm shipping back 5 planes ranging from 60" to
134". I asked earlier about ways to do this and what kind of boxes to
use, etc. Ron donated a very large plywood box which was used to ship
molded models from the Czech Republic to the shop he works for
(SoarHigh Models). I lined the bottom and sides of this box with scrap
upholstery foam and then wrapped every wing panel and fuselage in large
bubble wrap. After some careful maneuvering, I was able to get the
parts in the box so that nothing could move. When the movers came to
our flat yesterday, they looked inside to check things over and said it
was well packed. We then sealed the lid with 24 wood screws and off
they went. I'll let you know how things look on the other side of the
pond when everything arrives ;)

I'm looking forward to seeing more of you West coasters in the Northern
California compeition scene next year as I'm planning to enter my first
ever event after I get back on 1 Oct.

Cheers all!
Brad in Edinburgh, Scotland (one last time)
