About 12 of us unloaded and assembled the raven human powered plane at the Museum of Flight yesterday morning. It will get disassembled this evening. If you want to see an all composite 115 foot span glider with underpowered variable pitch prop this may be your last chance.
A nice article with a couple of pictures in today's Seattle times. I had a lot of fun doing the fly by wire electronics for this project. The horiz stab and vertical fin are both full flying and each is motivated by a Futaba S9402 servo just forward of the pivot points. Power is supplied from a set of CP1700SCR Gordy cells and the run from the battery to the servos is 32 feet. #18 wire is used for power with a 30,000 Mfd capacitor at the tail to supply the servo starting loads. The servo signals are delivered to the tail via rg196u. -- Dick Barker Seattle, WA - Turning HLG Around - RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
