Snip....

What are the AMA/LSF's goals for NATS?  To present an internationally/FAI recognized National Champion?  To have a nationally recognized champion even though it is not recognized elsewhere?  Or is it to simply have a large flying event at the National AMA facility that all are invited to? Jason Werner
The truth is that most of the classes flown in the U.S. Nationals are to U.S rules (skegs, heavy emphasis on landings etc) , which are not used on a world-wide basis. Therefore they cannot be considered international in scope.

There is nothing wrong with this, as apart from the chronic rule haggling, you all seem to be pleased with the system.
As for an FAI recognised national champion you would have to be flying FAI categories.
