The topic of servo failure rates has appeared on RCSE before. I've said many of the comments below, before. However, I disagree with some recent comments by a more esteemed modeler on this list and had to speak up.
The results of the previous servo discussions have been fairly consistent. My personal experience echoes them. We have historically gotten terrific service from our servos. In 23 years of modeling, I've only had TWO servo failures. I've done nearly everything in modeling and stressed my servos significantly. Yet only two have failed. Personally, I feel that Wayne's HS-81 failure was unacceptable. I expect servos to not fail in that way nor that quickly.
