Hi, all, This talk on zoomies reminds me of an occurrence way back when, during the first days of zoomies, several of the club members were perfecting their technique, and not doing badly for built-up planes. Another member, seeing the results in altitude gain, asked how to do it. He was told, at the top of the climb, stand on the winch, push down a little, then pull up. Nobody told him to take his foot off the winch pedal. As he tried it, all eyes were on him. When he pulled up, he tore off the bottom of his fuselage, along with the tow hook, and the receiver and battery pack both fell out, and the Aquila fluttered down and crashed. The members watching had hysterics. It went on and on. The guy gathered up the carnage and walked to his car and left. The sad part of it all is, he never came back. Dave Darling Modesto, CA
