I've had nothing from RCSE in a couple of days. But I've also had virtually no regular EMail and effectively unusable Web access. (Download speeds of the order of 300bytes/sec on a DSL connection.....)
Its just come up again in the last five minutes. Its probably a backbone problem. I traced a typical route and the link fell apart after a few hops. It was so bad that I couldn't get to my ISP's Web site to find the (phone) number to complain. I wonder if its anything to do with the Worldcom bankruptcy? Martin Usher (BTW -- For the curious -- you trace a route using a program that feels its way along the routers in a network between you and a specified destination. It gives you a list of who it went through and how long it took to get to each node. Its a common program dating back to the earliest days of the 'net.) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Johns" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, July 21, 2002 6:12 AM Subject: [RCSE] hello is anyone there? > Haven't had a post in a couple of days.
