I've had nothing from RCSE in a couple of days. But I've also had virtually
no regular EMail and effectively unusable Web access. (Download speeds of
the order of 300bytes/sec on a DSL connection.....)

Its just come up again in the last five minutes.

Its probably a backbone problem. I traced a typical route and the link fell
apart after a few hops. It was so bad that I couldn't get to my ISP's Web
site to find the (phone) number to complain.

I wonder if its anything to do with the Worldcom bankruptcy?

(BTW -- For the curious -- you trace a route using a program that feels its
way along the routers in a network between you and a specified destination.
It gives you a list of who it went through and how long it took to get to
each node. Its a common program dating back to the earliest days of the
'net.)
