Hitec receivers work fine with Futaba transmitters, provided that the Hitec
rx was either made to work with either Futaba or Hitec (non JR or
Airtronics). This is true in the USA, at least.

You can change the Hitec receiver channel to anything you want without
having to retune it..after all, they sell the receivers with no crystals in
them to begin with.

The only way to change the transmitter frequency is to get a new frequency
module, though, which is somewhat expensive (around $50) in comparison the
a $10 receiver crystal for the receiver.
