I like the idea. Let's do it.

Subject: [RCSE] For those that enjoy building and flying wood built up
sailplanes

Greetings,

Two subjects....

Wood Crafters May 23, 24, 25 freq. availability:

Ch 41 available for all three days
Ch 11 available Sat and Sunday
Ch 22 available Fri and Sat
Ch 43 and 52 available Fri
Ch 30 and 32 available Sunday
Remember, those that fly this year have first rights to their ch next
year. Those that signed up first for less than all three days also have
the first right.

Second subject....I'm thinking about submitting a new AMA rc sailplane
class proposal that goes something like this:

A. Wood built up sailplane with or without glass fuse.
B. Two size classes..100 inch or less and unlimited WS.
C. Restricted to rudder, elevator and wing flap
D. Wing flap can be coupled to elevator and/or operate as flaperon or
spoileron
E. Any number of Skegs can be located anywhere at the option of the
builder
F. Spoilers can be installed at the option of the builder

What do you guys think ??? Please, no off line responses, lets keep
this idea open to all. Lack of response will not cause me forget this
proposal because there are far more wood builders in the USA than
subscribers to this list.

I think it is time to continue developing wood built up sailplanes and a
flapped polyhedral or single dihedral design can be a very competitive
sailplane. This would certainly open the doors to creativity which is a
hall mark of wood construction.
