LOCATION: Earl Warren Junior High School, 4615 Mountain Vista Dr., Bakersfield, CA

DATES: March 22, 2003 (Saturday)
EVENT: Precision duration thermal contest.

SCHEDULE: 
Pilots check-in 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM.
Pilots meeting at 9:45 AM. 
First launch at 10:00 AM.

TASKS: 
In order:  3, 5, 7, 8, and 8 minutes tasks. The last round has to start before 12:15 P.M.
Scoring: 1 point per second, with a 1 point penalty for each second over the task time.

Landings will be full circle to a 25-foot, 25-point tape. Two pop-offs will be allowed with CD's discretion allowing more if circumstances warrant. Open winch by rounds but you will be called up if flying lags too much, again, at CD's discretion.

Entry fee is ONLY $5.00.

TO REACH EARL WARREN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN BAKERSFIELD:
From the NORTH, via Hwy 99:
Take Hwy 99 to Bakersfield; get off at the White Lane exit.  Turn RIGHT; follow White Lane for 4.7 miles to Mountain Vista Drive.  Turn LEFT, staying to the left, drive .9 miles to Trailblazer Drive, turn right and park in the parking lot or along Trailblazer Drive.
From the SOUTH, via Hwy 99:
Take Hwy 99 to Bakersfield; get off at the White Lane exit.  Turn LEFT; follow White Lane for 4.7 miles to Mountain Vista Drive.  Turn LEFT, staying to the left, drive .9 miles to Trailblazer Drive, turn right and park in the parking lot or along Trailblazer Drive.
Pilot:
The grass field is approximately 900' long and 550' wide with a 6' high cyclone fence on three sides. Outside the fence are two rows of houses and then open land. Landing outside the fence or east of the grass field will score you a zero round. East of the grass field is the school, drinking fountains and restrooms.
The distance to the turn around is a little more than 550' and usually right into the wind.
If you come the night before, try some of Bakersfield's famous Basque food.
